Brille24, Germany’s leading online optician, has made an agreement with SevenVentures for a strategic investment to fund further growth of the company. The investment will allow brille24 to advertise for new customers on the German TV channels of the ProSiebenSat.1 group starting fall of this year.
Brille24′s innovative business model has focused on the easy and transparent online purchase of prescription glasses since 2008. High-quality products with fine design at an affordable price — that is the company’s key message. Each frame with individually manufactured lenses including all common options is sent directly from the production to customers. The pricing model follows an “all-inclusive” approach. The company from Oldenburg (Germany) has thus acquired a customer base of 750,000 satisfied customers and convinced SevenVentures to invest in its business model.
Martin van Os, CFO of brille24 explains: “After an excellent financial year and the general market development of online prescription glasses sales it was a logical move for us to get a strategic partner on board.”
Mario Zimmermann, the CEO of Brille24 adds: “Together we will reach even more customers with our message: high-quality, well-designed glasses are very affordable at brille24.”
Brille24, the leading online optician in German speaking countries, offers a choice of more than 700 different glasses. Single vision glasses start at €39.90, Varifocals at €149.90. Anti-reflection, scratch resistant coating, Lotus effect, UV-protect 400, optional sunglass tints, a case, cleaning cloth and prescription certificate are all included in the price. For an additional EUR 80 all models can be ordered with reactive or polarized glasses. Brille24 has its own fashion collection EyeStyle, which is inspired by international street-style trends. The limited EyeStyle models can be purchased from €89.90. The company was founded by Matthias Hunecke in 2007 and is located in Oldenburg, Germany. It has online shops (beyond Germany) in Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain with a total customer base of more than 750,000 customers.
